Conditions of Entry
I understand and accept that Wellside Kindergarten opens from Monday to Friday, 8.00 am to 6.00 pm. The nursery closes for a total of 10, in between Christmas and New Year plus 3 public holidays. Fees are calculated on the basis of a 50 week year. The weekly charge will be multiplied by 50 and divided into 12 equal instalments which are payable monthly in advance. Payment is due on the first day of attendance in the month can be paid by standing order, cash, cheque or childcare vouchers. Overdue fees will incur a ‘late payment charge’. There is a minimum attendance requirement of 2 sessions per week. No rebate can be given for non-attendance. A non-refundable administration fee of £50.00 is required when a place has been agreed.
One month’s notice in writing must be given or the equivalent fees paid when a child is leaving the nursery for whatever reason. You are required to give us one month’s written notice of a reduction in the number of sessions you require.
Please inform the nursery if a child is going to be absent from a recognised attendance. Any child who is unwell should not be brought into the nursery. This is to prevent the spread of infection. If you are in doubt as to whether a child should attend, please contact us. Children who are unwell or infectious will be refused entry to the nursery until fully recovered. The nursery will adhere to NHS guidance on exclusion periods. Wellside Kindergarten reserves the right to administer basic first aid and treatment when necessary. Parents will be informed of all accidents and will be required to sign their child’s accident form. For accidents of a more serious nature involving hospital treatment, all attempts will be made to contact the parents, but failing this Wellside Kindergarten is hereby authorised to act on behalf of the parents and authorise necessary treatment. If medication is required to be administered, a ‘Medical Consent Form’ must be completed by the parent/guardian.
Parents must provide their own medication.
Staff are contracted to work between the hours of 8.00 and 6.00 pm and parents are requested to respect this. The nursery reserves the right to charge parents an extra fee when they are late collecting their child from nursery. ‘Permission to Collect Form’ must be completed if anyone other than the named person proposes to collect a child.
Photographers / Video
As part of our commitment to provide for the individual needs of your child we will observe all areas of development, and in partnership with you, record progress in those areas in order to plan appropriate activities within the nursery. These observations and records will be available for inspection by the Care Inspectorate and HMIE inspectors otherwise they will be confidential and available only to you and those nursery staff involved in planning the curriculum for your child. Any photographs/video taken of your child by nursery staff may be used in displays and used to supplement written observations but will not be taken off the premises. If you do not wish your child to have their photograph taken you must inform the nursery prior to starting.
As part of the nursery curriculum, the nursery will arrange visits and walks in the local community to support children’s learning and experiences. For example, they could learn about different kinds of food and cooking ingredients during a trip to a supermarket, or collect objects of interest for a collage or table display during a walk to the park. For your children to take part in such activities we require the written permission. Adult ratios will be higher than normal on these occasions and we would welcome and appreciate any parents / carers who would feel able to accompany us on short walks and trips. Please note the separate letters and permission slips will be sent out for planned visits and trips further afield
